Paradigm shift or incremental changes? Shaping mobility for liveable and social cities
Congestion, bad accessibility, pollution, social segregation. Cities all over the world are fighting the various challenges that mobility is causing. But how to approach new and innovative strategies for cities, that are stuck in the concept of mainly designing their infrastructure for cars?
Our authors have identified eight fields of action for city and traffic planning that promote socially just and eco-friendly solutions for future mobility in urban areas. By that, they are formulating policy recommendations for cities to answer the question: do we need a paradigm shift in urban mobility or can we transform cities with incremental changes?
