Alumni & and partners' meeting on Development prospects for the ASEAN region and approaches to cooperation between China and the EU amidst geopolitical rivalries

FES Beijing and FES Shanghai together organized its 2026 alumni & and partners' meeting on the topic of development prospects for the ASEAN region and approaches to cooperation between China and the EU amidst geopolitical rivalries by end of April in Guiyang, Guizhou province. Both FES offices invited more than 50 scholarship holders, alumni and partners from Beijing, Shanghai as well as from Sichuan and other regions in China for the two days exchange.

Over the course of the two-day seminar experts from China, Germany and ASEAN countries pointed out, that there are differing interests, ongoing territorial disputes and a lack of trust in many areas. Despite of these; experts for international relations, for business and economy as well as development cooperation also suggested areas for ongoing and potential trilateral cooperation.
