Dialogue on artificial intelligence and labour law
The new EU regulation on artificial intelligence and a planned law for industrial workers in China were two of the central topics at an expert programme on artificial intelligence and labour law in Shanghai, Nanjing and Beijing, which was jointly organised by the two offices of FES Shanghai and FES Beijing.
During their visits in Shanghai and Nanjing, the renowned labour law expert Prof. Wolfgang Däubler and the lawyer Dr. Andreja Schneider-Dörr gave a series of lectures and participated in round-table discussions and workshops at Tongji University, Nanjing University and Nanjing Normal University on the topics of impacts of digitalization and AI on the world of work and labour law, in particular against the background of the adoption of the new AI Act of the EU. At the Ginling College of Nanjing Normal University, the German and Chinese experts exchanged their views on gender equality in the age of AI.
In Beijing, the FES Beijing, together with the Chinese University of Politics and Law (CUPL) and the Institute of Industrial Relations under the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (CULR), organized the eighth Sino-German Labour Law Symposium on the topic of New Technological Revolution, New Labour Law, at which Prof. Däubler and Dr. Schneider-Dörr gave lectures from the German side.
The German, Chinese and international experts also exchanged views with representatives of an arbitration court in Beijing's Shijingshan district, with representatives of a law firm specializing in labour law and with employees of Didi Chuxing - a company specializing in digital platform transport.
