Science & Technology and Women development

On December 9^th & 10^th 2022, FES Beijing Office and the Chinese Women University at the All-China Women´s Federation successfully hosted the 6^th German-Chinese Conference on Gender Equality on Science & Technology and Women development.

Experts from China and Germany provided important impulses for the intercultural discourse on gender roles in society and the change of patriarchal social patterns. They discussed strategies and necessary conditions for increasing the proportion of women in STEM subjects and professions and for reducing discrimination, structural barriers and cultural stereotypes. With reference to the third Equality Report of the German Government, German and Chinese experts reflected on the legal options that need to be created so that women and men have equal opportunities for participation and realization against the backdrop of disruptive change in the economy and the world of work.
